Daddy had an appendectomy and I stayed in the hospital with him for 3 days. We came home yesterday but we are both still really tired. ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz..........

1 Month Old

Charlotte is four weeks old now. For her 1 month celebration we went to Joe's Farmhouse Grill. It was delicious. Charlotte ordered a watermelon cupcake. It was so good, it really tasted like a watermelon. Charlotte is growing so fast. The other day when we were grocery shopping we weighed her on the vegetable scale and she has gained 2 lbs. She weighs 9 lbs 2 oz now. Sorry I didn't get a picture of her on the scale.

Photo Shoot

Pretty much every week we take pictures of Charlotte. These ones are from tonight. I think I am gonna have one of them framed and matted.
Javier Dress
Here Charlotte is wearing one of her H & M outfits. Complements of Ginger & Javier!! I can't wait to take Charlotte on her first shopping spree at H & M.
*We would like to clarify. Javier picked this outfit out for Charlotte. Ginger picked out 2 other outfits for her. We would also like thank Javier for mailing all 3 outfits. I do think it was Ginger's idea to go to H & M to pick out stuff for Charlotte. So maybe she should get all the credit!
New Car Seat
Martin insisted on getting the safest car seat on the market. So we did...but is is huge, black and blue, and doesn't have a base. After I went on a few outing with Charlotte I decided that we needed an infant seat that I can detach...so I went out and got one. Here is Charlotte in her new pink car seat!

Charlotte dreams
1. Shopping. I dreamed I was shopping at the grocery with a two or three year old Charlotte. She wanted three different fruit snacks when we went down the aisle, I made her pick just one. When we were in the checkout she wanted to buy some bubble tape to which I responded 'can you even have gum yet?'
2. Naming. We had the name Charlotte picked out since the first trimester. However, I dreamed that I was at the birth, the nurse handed her to me, and it suddenly struck me. "wait a minute, you aren't a Charlotte! You are an Anna!". It is funny to note that before that dream we had never talked about Anna, but that it actually is a pretty good name and meets all my requirements...if we have another girl it is in the running for sure.
3. Birthing. Around week 36 or 37, when we were more than ready to be done, I had a dream that Debbie finally had her and she was adorable with brown hair, and looked like my sister did as a baby (note: she doesn't). That's the version I told Debbie when I woke up anyways. I can't remember anymore act 2 of this little sit com, but somehow we got in a spat before I left for work and I got mad enough at her that I told her the rest of my dream: that she had woken up in a puddle of blood and had to have an emergency c section. My initial reaction to not tell her turned out to be correct, as she spent the remaining weeks afraid to go to sleep in case she woke up bloody. I felt really bad.
4. Talking. A couple nights ago, I dreamed that Charlotte started talking. Not like six months from now, but now, at 20 days. We didn't think it was too odd, except her first 'word' was to say 'I love you, too!' back to us as we were putting her to sleep, and we couldn't figure out where she had heard that exchange frequently enough to pick it up (as deb and I just trade I love you's back and forth without bothering with a 'too'). She had a super baby voice, a little better than some of those dogs that 'talk', but we figured it would get better once she was a month old. Hehe.
Anyways, those are the Charlotte Dreams as of now...I'm sure there will be many many many more!

Eventful Weekend
Thursday: Went to Sonoran Brewery for dinner. It rained so bad that Javier, Ginger, Charlotte and I almost got washed away in the Honda Fit. Good thing Ginger was driving....if you know me you know I am a terrible driver. We had to stop at a strip mall and wait for the roads to de-flood so we could get back to my Dad's house. Once we got back we decided it was best for me to not drive all the way home. So we made up the pull out couch for Charlotte and I. Then the power went out and was out from 11 pm to 3 am. No AC for 4 hours is miserable. Javier and I were baking all night. No one else really seemed to care. Javier actually slept in his car with the windows rolled down. It is very difficult to change a diaper by candle light!
Friday: Woke up, got ready and headed for Last Chance. We made Charlotte a bed in the front of the shopping cart. You could barely see her mixed in with all our trash! Then we went to visit a retirement home for Grandpa. They gave us free lunch and we toured the place. It was super nice. Charlotte had an irruption in the bathroom at the place. It was horrible! Poor baby. After that we got dropped off at Target and Javier went to pick up Martin from work. Next we went back to my Dad's house to relax. After our rest we headed to LoLo's Chicken and Waffles. Mmmmm it hit the spot. Then it was back to Dad's to play board games; I think they played Modern Art and Scrabble. I guess there was a Scrabble fight but I missed it. I decided to stay the night again! ( I had to wash my clothes since I hadn't planned on staying over 2 nights in a row)
Charlotte sippin" some sweet tea at LoLo's
Saturday: We decided to go visit Granny in Tucson. We left around 2 pm. Poor Charlotte had her first throw up. I didn't burp her long enough and she got sick in the car. I felt like a bad mommy. So we arrived in Tucson around 4 pm. Got to go through Uncle Jay's goodwill pile. We got some good stuff. Decided to go to the Desert Museum for dinner. Luckily I had the stroller to wheel Charlotte around in. We didn't really look at any animals just ate and went to the gift shops. Then we headed home. Ginger and Javier stopped by my house once we got back to Mesa.
Charlotte cruizin' in her Bugaboo
Sunday: Tried to recover from all the action. I slept until like 1 pm. Went to dinner at Martin's Parent's house and watched the Olympic Gymnastics. Then came home and crashed.
